Description: An amazing artifact from the 1920s Palestine, this vintage advertising brochure trade card for the Vester & Company American Colony Stores contains an antique color map of Jerusalem. Founded in 1881 as a Christian utopian society led by American religious leader Horatio Gates Spafford and his Norwegian wife Anne Tobine Larsen Øglende, the American Colony established a hostel for travels. The outpost developed into a hotel and a thriving store specializing in photography, travel books, carpets, curios, embroideries and other local handicrafts. The property is now a 5-star luxury hotel. The antique advertising ephemera shows wear consistent with its age and use. There is a light crease across the middle and some discoloration on the cover from age. Approximate Measurements:6" x 4" closed
