Description: A really pretty J.E. Caldwell & Co. repousse style sterling silver lidded canister. Any number of possibilities. Measures 6" height to top of finial on lid x 3 1/2" wide and weighs 272.9 grams(8.7 troy ounces). The canister is in nice condition for the age. There are a few small dings in one section on the side and couple more on the outer edge of lid. Really not a big deal and only mentioned for accuracy. The silver is bright and clean with no stains or pitting. The interior is also free of stains with no odors. It probably has not seen much use. Could be used for storage, or powder or even tobacco. The lid fits snugly for a near airtight seal. The base is stamped J.E. Caldwell & Co. Phila. sterling 132. No monograms. Please enlarge all pics for best details.
