Description: This is a beautiful piece of Japanese satsuma earthenware, a bottle shape with a (broken) lid. Everything is hand painted, including cherry blossoms and various flowers all around the vase, a bee, and a couple of tiny butterflies on the top of the lid. It is signed a couple inches up from the bottom. It's 6" wide and about 10.5" tall with the lid on. The lid is glued back together after breaking in two, and is missing a piece. Considering the age of the bottle, I bet most are missing the lid entirely, so it's better than nothing. The bottle has a little hairline crack on the bottom rim, another on the top rim, and a small chip on the top rim.
