Description: This is a lovely embellished Brass Container from Japan. I estimate the item dates from the early 1900's based on the provenance notes I have. The piece was purchased in Penang, Malaysia from an Antique Dealer who specialized in local Peranakan / Nyonya Baba Antiques. They also had a smaller assortment of Japanese antiques. The original lid to the box is noticeably absent as evidenced by the repair on the inside of the box.
