Description: This auction is for a very interesting 19th century Irish "Bog Oak" carved box, the top has the image of Killarney Castle and underneath it has the word "KLARNEY" which is just magical as these early Irish folk art items are now getting quite hard to find. Sold as 100% antique original and nothing short of that, looks to be approx 1850-1870 and great being a "castle top" in good original condition, it has what looks like a chip to one side but I think it may be in the original material and has just been worked around as the patina looks to old on the item. Overall it's very dirty though as it was in a draw with several old leather bound books that had fallen apart with age, listing as we have found and not cleaned. This was found in an old estate clearance we did some while ago. Size: approx 6 cm across the top. Please look at the images closely as they represent an important part of the description, thanks. Any questions please ask.
