Very detailed Art Nouveau decorated cap. As this is a larger size pendant, the opal chunks are larger. Very close up photos were taken to show its marking of PAT 6.27.22. It is difficult to completely make out the 6.27.22 date, and the 6 and 2 are most clear. A loupe was used to take these close-ups. Comes with original 14k yellow gold 18" chain with old spring ring clasp. Many times only the pendants were sold directly to stores and the store would then add their own chains when selling. I believe that to be the case with this set. Excerpt taken from an article about Horace Welch Floating Opal Pendants: "Caps marked “PAT. 6.27.22” date from 1922 to 1924. These are the earliest and rarest due to their flaw-inherent construction."
