Description: Antique Hand Painted Nippon Morimura Gumi Scenic Moriage Two-Handled Bowl - Taisho Era (1911 - 1920).Beautiful hand painted country scene on inside of bowl in yellow, orange, green, and purple hues. The entire inside of the bowl is painted with the scene.Detailed Moriage beaded design on outside of top rim and handles with brown Moriage beadwork and matte peach colored background.Outside of bowl (below beaded design) is glossy finish that grades from peach color at top to white at bottom.Pedestal on bottom bowl with brown stripe around the base. Brown stripe around top rim.Marked on bottom in green with "Hand Painted Nippon" and wreath with "M" in the middle (mark used by Morimura Gumi company from 1911 to 1920).The bowl measures 9" from handle to handle. The top rim of the bowl is 6 3/8" diameter. It is about 2 5/8" tall.The bowl is in flawless condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The paint and Moriage are bright and in flawless condition.A beautiful Edwardian Era piece.
