Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a fabulous Gorham/Durgin Sterling Silver 8" long "Iris" design boat-shaped nut/candy dish, #104. The design features a large elaborately chased iris flower on one end of the dish for the handle and long leaves decorated the body with one unopened iris in the center. Measures 8" long, 3 7/8" at widest 1" high (at handle) Marked "Gorham" with trademark stamp of the Durgin Co., "Sterling, 104". The William B. Durgin Company of Concord NH and Providence RI was is business from 1880-1905 when they were absorbed into the Gorham Company. Gorham continued to use the Durgin trademark stamp along with the Gorham name until 1930. This nice sterling dish is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no dents or dings does have a couple of very faint tarnish specks on the top of the dish reflecting minor signs of normal wear.
