Description: Antique GOOD LUCK HORSESHOE AND FISH TM Wood and Brass Sidewinder Ball Bearing Fishing Reel Good Luck wood and brass fishing reels were manufactured from the 1890s until 1919 for ocean or deep sea fishing. This Meisselbach reel is clearly branded with a Horseshoe and Fish trademark and also stamped "BALL BEARING" on the front. It features a full "S" brass reinforcement on the wood spool with ball bearing shafts. "OIL THE BALLS OFTEN" imprinted to both front and back on center of brass disks. The wood spool spins freely and measures 6” in diameter and features the original patinaed finish making it perfect for collectors and display! This reel has some wear and tear, a few tiny paint specs, and an old repair to the backside of the reel as pictured; while remaining an outstanding early example in great condition considering it's over 100 years old.
