Description: Antique Newspaper/Magazine"Good Literature" November 1899Thanksgiving Issue with an illustrated harvest scene on the front with turkey, pumpkins and dried stalks of wheat/corn with images of a family dinner and kitchen preparing a turkey/goose dinner Volume VIII, Issue Number 4 Since it is a literature magazine, it is filled with stories which include "The Ranchman's Daughter" by Dr. R.B. Hill (with a great illustration of a horseman taking a woman into his arms with the caption "Slackening his speed as he came up, Lomax eaned forward, lifter her slender form in his arms, and dashed on again, turning Raven's head diagonally across the face of the restless, living avalanche behind them"); a poem about Thanksgiving Day; "The Old Red House Among the Mountains" by Mrs. Mary J. Holmes, "The Fateful Amulet" by Hero Strong (with a great illustration of a woman approaching a horse); "November" by Judith Spencer with an illustration of a man hiding behind a bush watching a couple arguing as well as instructions for making Mikado Lace and articles for kids which includes a breakdown of "How to Make a Windmill" Great vintage advertisements! Back cover includes classified ads for Practical Palmistry, a one year free trial for Organs and Pianos with great illustrations of each, ads for hair, boots, an anchor electric belt, embroidery needle and an offer for free books including titles like "How to Hypnotize", "The Art of Love Making", "Guide to Fortune Telling", and "Mormonism Made Easy" Condition - page 19/20 has been torn from the paper - it looks like it would have included more classified ads, as that's what appears before and after it (the remnant is still attached at staples). The entire newspaper has been folded (long ago) and the back page has a split about halfway across the fold, and several pages have a very small separation right at the edge along that fold.
