Description: Presented is a wonderful quality German silver gravy boat and tray made during the late 1800s or early 1900s. This piece was made or retailed by H. Meyen & Company of Berlin. The gravy boat and tray have a matching design with threaded rims and hand chased, applied acanthus leaf decoration around the edge. All the decoration is very crisp and done in high relief. The gravy boat has a nice gold wash on the interior. The gravy boat is attached to the tray with the old bolt construction. It was attached off center so that if gravy drips from the spout it will land on the tray and not on your table. The gravy boat is very deep and will hold a large amount of gravy. The tray is marked on the underside with the 800, crescent moon, and crown for German 800 purity silver and H. Meyen & Company for the maker. The condition is excellent. There are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, no breaks, and no repairs. The gravy boat and tray measure 6 1/2 inches by 9 1/2 inches and 5 1/2 inches tall. The weight is 650 grams or 22.8 ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
