Description: This is a set of 5 antique porcelain mini spice canisters made in Germany. The spice canisters/jars are labeled Allspice, Pepper, Ginger, Cloves and Nutmeg, warming spices reminding us of the fall here in Illinois. Porcelain spice jars were very popular in the 1920's and 1930's and made most often in Germany and the former Czechoslovakia. Those made for export to the USA were marked for their country of origin, Germany - as you can see on the underside of these canisters. They are porcelain with an opalescent finish. The art deco style design is done in sage green, lavender, and gold. These are a great housewarming gift for the baker in your life, especially the one that likes the holidays. Put them in a gift bag with spices and a dessert bread mix and your have a wonderful birthday or Christmas gift. The canisters have a one cup capacity and are 3 1/8 inches tall without the lid. CONDITION: There are no chips, scratches, crazy, or stains on any of the spice canisters or their lids. There is some slight wear/rubbing on bits of the design.
