Description: This listing is for an antique German bisque doll recently purchased from a local doll auction. She was made by Heinrich Handwerck around the turn of the century (circa 1900). She has a socket style bisque head with blue paperweight glass eyes. Her upper and lower eyelashes are painted and she has feathered brown multi-stroke eyebrows. Her lips are light peach with a red outline and she has four upper teeth. There are red accent dots in her nostrils, a dimple in her chin and she has rosy pink cheeks. Her ears are pierced and she comes with her original brown mohair wig. She is marked "119-13 Handwerck 5 Germany" on the back of her neck. Her body is marked "Heinrich Handwerck" and she stands 28" tall. She is dressed in an antique drop-waist dress made of linen with white embroidered flowers and trimmed with lace and grosgrain ribbon trim. Under the dress, she has an an antique slip dress made of cotton with eyelet trim and modern pantaloons. Her socks are modern 70s replacements made of black nylon and she has antique red leather shoes. Her fancy hat has a straw brim with a green satin crown and is decorated with a silk ribbon bow and flowers. I'm unsure if it is original, a replacement or a modern piece with antique elements. Her earrings are 70s replacements and she has an old green silk ribbon. Condition: Her bisque head is in good condition with no cracks or repairs but there is some damage to the eyelids and wear around the upper edge from the wig glue. There is lots of wear on the body with hairline cracks and wear in the paint around the neck and joints. One of her shoulder joints is broken and she has a broken finger tip. The dress is in fair condition. The grosgrain ribbon is faded and dry rotted and there are tears and stains on the dress. The silk bow and flowers on the hat are worn. The dress slip has been patched and repair several times and the pantaloons are stained and yellow. There is staining and wear on the undergarments. There are a lot of holes in her socks. Her wig is shedding and is in poor condition. Please note: The antique books and doll stand are not included in the listing and are for display purposes only.
