Description: 1900 Gem Ice Shave , made in Philadelphia, circa 1900-1930, founded in 1878, Stanley Works Tool Co acquired the North Bros in 1946, Approximately 6 1/4” long x 2” x 2 1/4” tall, absolutely beautiful aged patina. In the early 1900’s this would be used to shave ice from big blocks of ice, by 1900 the company was a major manufacturer and employer in the city of Philadelphia and produced ice cream freezers, ice shaving and crushing tools, and other consumer hand tools.
