Description: This is a Richfield Oil Co. Eagle, weathervane from the late 1930s or 40s, 4 feet tall. In the 1930s and 40s some Richfield filling stations were very elaborate, with built in gas pumps made of plaster and tile and a large clock face at the top and a metal airplane or car on top of that! (likely 7 ft tall), and on top of these gas station buildings there would be a large weathervane, this is one of those weathervanes, it is likely from a Richfield station or facility torn down many years ago. A magnet won't stick to this weathervane anywhere except for the screws that hold the Eagle, the Eagle is aluminum, everything else is brass. There is a 1" brass pipe that goes from bottom to top and capped at the top. The arrow is solid brass and 50" long. The north south east west directional portion of this weathervane is missing. The tail piece of the arrow is 12" x 5.5" and has been broken and welded or brazed at the connection (see photo's) it seems very solid now, the arrow head of the arrow is 10" x 5". The arrow has been removed for packing and shipping. Overall height: 54" The Eagle height 44" This would make a nice addition to any gas and oil collection. My shipping fee is for the lower 48 states only.
