Description: Antique French Rubina Verde Enamel Decorated Art Glass Vase by Legras, c. 1890 For your consideration, we are offering this Rubina Verde enamel decorated art glass vase. The art glass vase has a lovely deep cranberry red color at the neck and shoulders that softly changes to a pale yellow/green color heading down. The body of the glass vase has a ribbed optic effect when moved around. This optic ribbing can be felt inside the vase; on the outside, it is smooth. The high neck is a square shape with large crimped corners and sides. The edge of the rim has been fire polished smooth by the maker. The pontil is large, round, indented and ground smooth. This vase features a thick multi-color enamel painting of dragonflies and flowers on the front-side of the body. The flowers and insects are accented with gold. Overall condition is excellent with no issues. No maker marks or signatures were found, however we believe this piece to be the work of the Legras factory in France in the later part of the 19th century, but please examine the photographs and decide this on your own. Great examples of antique Rubina Verde art glass are rare. This would be an attractive addition to any collection of fine antique art glass. It measures approximately 6-1/2 inches across the body in diameter. The square crimped rim opening measures approximately 4-1/4" x 4-1/4". Diagonally across from corner to corner measures approximately 5-1/4 inches. The vase weighs approximately 2 lbs, 8 ounces. All measurements are approximate, but close. Condition: We carefully examined this item. NO Chips, Cracks, Nicks, Scratches, Stains, Repairs or Restorations were noted. All of the enameling appears intact with only a faint amount of wear noted to the gold. Normal wear should be expected on the bottom from previous use or display. Antique glass is not always perfect due to manufacturing techniques of the 19th century. An occasional tiny bubble or unevenness can be found. We do report any excessive wear, damage or repairs.
