Description: A rare miniature Empire style funerary urn shaped Memento Mori for Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte of France. Probably French, ca. early to mid 1800s. Very finely made, turned wood box inlayed with gold "N" and silver eternal flame, and with gilded bronze handles. Please view our detailed photos as they're part of the description. Height: ca. 3 1/2 inches (ca. 9 cm.). Fine used condition, but the wood has shrunk a little in 200 years, so halves don't screw tightly together (can be easily fixed), and one handle is loose at the top (also easy to fix).
