So wonderful ~*~ This wonderful textile comes from a large, 19th century French bedding set ~ ( please see my other textiles for matching pieces) this stunning piece is This piece dates c1880 and it is a bed curtain with original tiny rings for hanging still stitched to the top. The left facing side is trimmed with the original trim. This panel is constructed using one full width and another more narrow width to create the full wide width . The fabric is a heavy weight, cretonne weave ( thin warp, thick weft) cotton. GORGEOUS printed colors! This piece has a inky black ground with a green tint . Rather a charcoal green. The other colors include: brighter red, soft blue, browns ~ The back of this textile was printed to be seen also, and was printed with a lovely magenta purple ground tone!!! ( please see photograph 6, showing the back fabric tones) ~*~ This textile is 100% hand stitched ~ Lovely fringe trim!! ~*~ !! ~*~ ! ~ (#14) MEASUREMENTS : This piece measures : 47 inches across and the drop is 104 inches long ~ at the top, where it is gathered it measures approx. 30 inches wide CONDITION : This length is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust ~ ~ Some of the pieces in this set have pale bleeds in the fabric, therefore to be on the safe side, this textile should not be water washed .
