Description: This antique French box is burl wood veneer with dark wood trim on the corners and edges and plaques of guta percha on the top, and three sides. The plaques depict a cherub, and on the front a head all arranged with scrolls and flowers. The inside still has the original blue silk lining. The box comes with a working key.Condition is good for its age: there is a slight gap on one of the corners and the silk lining is very fragile. All in all a beautiful and unusual box.Measurements are: 11 3/4" by 5 1/4" and 4 1/2" tall.
