Description: A very handsome small 19th century French side stand or table. A well made piece all around from a fine Connecticut estate. Purchased at a high end Boston area auction house after leaving said CT estate. The table features a brass gallery on a marble top. Beautiful tapered legs with brass feet are my favorite part. The pièce de résistance is the inlaid cabinet door. It has a very well done folksy scene of a courting pair. The piece is in excellent condition overall with just normal age related wear. The only condition issue is come chipping to the inlay near the doors edge. This is relatively minor and due to the color variation in the inlaid scene the chipping doesn’t stand out when viewed from a couple steps back. It blends in well to the natural color variations in the chosen wood varieties. There is also a small hole drilled into the back of the cabinet doors compartment. This is presumably to run a telephone or electric wire. This piece makes a great plant stand, telephone stand, smoking stand, side table, or nightstand. Dimensions are as follows 29" H x 16" W x 12" D. Ships ASAP! Thanks Free Boston area pickup. I’ve added a lengthy handling time just to insure that I find the correct box to ship this safely in. It will likely ship well before the published timeframe.
