Description: A pretty French scent bottle made from beautiful turquoise hand blown blue glass. The curvaceous blown glass was highly polished and then hand painted with enamel paints in orange, white and muted purple in a floral design around the middle section, then tiny white flowers along near the neck, the same added to the removable top with a polished tip. The colors are still very vibrant and although the glass is not obscure, but it is considered opaline glass and it is French in origin. At the bottom we see the pontail mark indicating the hand blown glass was then broken off the pipe. The French bottle has a Turkish influence which was very popular at the time, circa mid to late 1800s. This scent bottle would be considered part of the Grand Tour items that were manufactured for the wealthy travelers at that time, about 1880 when there was an incredible increase in financial gain made by several people due to the innovations of machinery and slave wages they profited off of others. A rare and pretty little bottle that appears to have never been used, only put on display. Please see photos for approximate measurements and details.
