Description: Up for sale is an antique religious print framed under glass. This is the first of the 13 Stations of the Cross titled "Jesus is Condemned to Death". Beautiful old print dates to the 1890s and comes in an ornate Gesso frame with a gold painted foliate (leaf) design. The frame measures 20" X 16" - the actual artwork is 16" X 12". The print shows Jesus standing in front of Pontius Pilate who is washing his hands while Pharisees and a Roman guard stand by. Hard to photograph because of the glare on the glass. The print is in very good condition with a couple of small dark spots near the top. They may be on the glass rather than the print. I don't want to take off the original paper backing to find out. The frame is wired for hanging. A beautiful old piece of religious art.
