Description: Wonderful and all-original colorful folk art bird cage, circa late 1800s to early 1900s. The paint is matte finish; it looks like milk paint and the colors are wonderful. There is overall normal wear from age and use. There are some minor condition issues, but nothing serious. One of the roof slats was glued where it snapped. One of the star cutouts is chipped. The inside of the cage shows signs of actual use by a bird, including chew marks on the wood. The bottom tray slides out and the front panel of the cage comes off for cleaning. There are 2 small holes where nails originally held the front in place, but they are gone. The bars and the tray are metal. Measures 17" tall x 19" wide x 9-1/4" deep. Please ask any questions if something is not clear. Thanks for looking!
