Antique Folio 18 Etchings - Hamerton ca. 1877

Description: A 19th Century bound volume with 18 etching on thick white paper by various significant English, French, German artists of the time ca. 1877. The Folio is titled “Eighteen Etchings By * English * French * And German * Artist ” and is quite rare. This scarce folio contains some of the most famous etchers and their most famous etchings i.e Abel Lurat “Meditation & etching of Decamps “Boat Horses”, Legros “A Breton Peasant”, W. Wise “The Child Miranda”, and my favorite “Girl of Anacapri”, just to name a few. The overall sheet dimensions approx.: 15 x 10 3/4 in. (38 x 27 cm) while the size of the etching vary from approx. 10” x 6” (25 x 15 cm) to the smallest being approx. 5” x 4” (13 x 10 cm). Each etching come with two page notes by Philip Gilbert Hamerton. The creator: Seeley, Jackson, And Halliday, 54 Fleet Sreet. London MDCCCLXXVII (1877). This antique folio of etchings by Europe’s most famous 19th century artist will make a wonderful addition to any Post Impressionist collection.
