Description: This is an absolutely gorgeous repoussé Art Nouveau brass box by German metal workers Erhard & Shone. It has wonderful organic floral and foliate forms and a wooden liner. It would have been a cigarette box but could be used as a jewellery box. The sides of the box have a repeating raised Art Nouveau pattern and dashed border. The bottom of the box is covered with canvas. The metal has a wonderful pattina. Its a really nice example of Art Nouveau metal work. On the bottom is the makers mark for Erhard and Sohnes, a winged lion on a captial E. The box measures 9.2 cm by 7.2 cm by 4 cm in height.
