Description: Description This is a great post that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and is painted. The original ball finial is present. There are 2 applied carved panels on each of 3 sides and ribbed moldings at the corners. It is notched for the step and rail that the balusters sat on. It measures 57.5 tall by 7.75 square at the base, 6 square at the shaft. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job!
