Description: I have owned this antique photograph for decades and have enjoyed studying it. The premise of the photograph is that we have a ragamuffin gang waiting at a stagecoach stop in front of the J.W.Scott Hotel. Two of the children have advertising hats on. Though I cannot make out is printed on their caps? Above them is a Weidemann’s Beer Advertising sign. This would be George Weidemann famous beer which was once located in Newport, Kentucky. Perhaps the boy’s caps state this name? The next fascinating part of this photograph is that we have a group of Civil War veterans waiting in line for the stagecoach headed for a reunion. I could think of no other reason why they all would be wearing their old kepi’s and slouch hats and uniforms.
