Impressed on the bottom: “Simmons & Hammond, Portland, Maine / Germany." Very desirable early root beer memorabilia. This mug was Advertised as part of a Flemish drink set in 1902. Simmons & Hammonds were an apothecary and supplier soda fountain syrups & goods etc. Simmons & Hammonds mugs are hard to find. Around the base the mug reads in German: “Nach Alter Weise Und Deutscher Sitte 1519”, Which roughly translates to Made in the Old German tradition. Size: 1/4 liter, 4.5” tall Condition Report: Used. Very good condition for its age, no repairs or excessive use-wear. This item has no significant damages, but it may show light use-wear consistent with it’s age and prior usage.
