Description: This is a rare and intriguing Edwardian Era metal Chatelaine dance notepad. Made in Vienna by B. Buchwald & Co. When ladies attended dances they would write down the names of the men who had asked them to dance as a way to keep track of their dance partners at a ball. Doors on pendent open. Right one needs new wire in hinges if you want to be able to open and close it. If just for display the doors fit snugly enough to stay in place. All original. Includes all pages and pencil.
