Description: Antique C. 1900 Ladies Green Wool Silk Bodice Jacket Blouse Edwardian Victorian Beautiful antique bodice in really rather wonderful condition considering the age. Emerald green wool with emerald green velvet covered faux decor buttons on the front, shoulders & cuffs. Hook & eye closure throughout. Incredible embroidery detailing on the front panel of the top. Silk lining throughout bodice and into sleeves. No boning. There is two eye hooks on the back of the top, likely where a bow would have been clipped but sadly we don't have that. There is some tearing that is beginning in the silk lining - mostly along the neckline as shown in the photos; bodice and arms are still looking good! I'm sure there is some yellowing to the embroidery, but it's throughout so looks like the natural ivory color. The only real issue with this piece is that there are some moth bites - one at the back of the neck & a small cluster on right at the waistline on the peplum. +There is also a musty smell.. we received this piece about a month ago and have it out to air but there is a mustiness to it+ All of our clothing is stored in a clean, smoke-free & pet-free room.
