Description: Stunning Transferware Plate CYPRUS Brownfield and Sons ~ Staffordshire, England ~ c. 1885 This fabulous plate is crisply transfer printed in brown and decorated in an Art Deco pattern with a naturalistic inspiration, a kaleidoscopic design of stylized sunflowers and feathers. 7 1/4 inches wide. The decoration is bright and clear and coveted by collectors. The plate was made by Brownfield Potteries in the Staffordshire region of England. Never Used. The plate is in good condition with a tiny hairline to the rear and a scrape chip to the underside football. Early pieces in this wonderful pattern don't come along often, and the contrast and composition is especially beautiful.
