He is considered, by far, the leading name in Portuguese realist and illustrious sculpture in the 19th century.This well-known bust by Soares Dos Reis depicts a portrait of a girl with short hair, head slightly tilted, face with delicate features looking towards her right, thin nose, and small mouth. Bodice and blouse in disarray, open at the chest. Signed on the back; A. S. dos Reis, 1887. Approx. Height: 9.25" (23.5 cm), Width 5" (13 cm) and Weight: 5.6 lb (2.6 kg). It is in excellent antique condition commensurate with its age with no discolouration, oxidization, cracks, bents. Has excellent gorgeous, for its age, dark brownish patina.
