Illustrated with numerous photographs.Measures 8 1/8" by 6". In very good condition. Binding is very tight with slight cracking of pastedown/flyleaf at the spine. Pages are bright and clear with very slight age toning near the edges (note: the yellow tone that appears in the photos is an effect of the camera and lighting). No markings in the book other than the inscription and signature of the author. Morris Steinert was the founder of M. Steinert & Sons (in Boston in 1860), which is still in business and is considered the premier piano merchant in the New England area. He was the founder of the New Haven, Connecticut symphony, developer of Steinert Hall in Boston, and was an avid collector of antique musical instruments. His collection of musical instruments is now the main part of the Yale Morris Steinert Collection of Musical Instruments at Yale University.
