Exterior of the book is overall clean with some minor shelf, age, or use wear. Exterior shows rubbing to the upper and lower edges of the spine as well as outer corner edges of the cover boards. Back shows very old water stain. Exterior shows some minor toning or light soiling. Interior of the book book is clean with inscriptions and signatures as well as a few pencil notations on the endpapers and clothbacked bookbinder's tape reinforcement at the gutter between the half title page and adjacent page. Interior pages show some light and very occasional foxing. From page 266 to the end of the book is some minor and marginal water staining. Book's binding is tight with all pages present and none coming loose, detached or missing. Book has a slightly musty odor. Book totals 279 pages, measures approximately 9 1/8 x 6 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches and weighs just over 1 1/2 pounds.
