Description: 2 unique rare figural torch lamps signed Aug Moreau. These are antique reproductions of the original sculptures. Panier DE Fruits, and LA Surprise. Produced somewhere between 1892 and 1915. Probably more towards the latter. First off, the negative. The girl lamp looks to have been broken at one point in time. And has been repaired. Please look at the last photo for details. There is one screw missing that holds in the glass. There should be 6 theres 5. The torch shades look to be exact matches. One looks frosted, and the other has a green tint to it. I'm not sure why. Could be possible one sat in the sun. There are chips around the bases of them. The frosted one is worse. The cords are in excellent condition they measure about 7ft 8 in. The boy measures approximately 17 " tall. The girl is 17" both bases ar 4". You can see in the 12th and 13th pictures where they are signed Aug Moreau. A brief history. These were owned by a woman who is 100 years old. She said her parents bought them used when she was a child. So that dates them to the early 1930's at the least. They sat on an organ her whole life. That's what I know about them. Thanks for sticking with me. If you would like more pictures, please ask. Any questions, concerns, or critiques. Please feel free to message me. They will be packaged well. The package will be insured, and signature confirmation is required upon arrival. Feel free to send an offer. Any offer is better than no offer. This is some information I found about the foundry mark: Fabrication Francaise Paris, made in Paris France. This was a foundry in Paris which poured French bronzes and iron work in the late 19th Century, early 20th Century. The Made in France in English on the foundry mark is due to the U.S trade law of 1891 that required all imports to be marked to indicate the country of origin. The earliest known mention of the company name Fabrication Francaise, Paris is 1892. The exact date when this company ceased to exist is not known, as many European governments absorbed the private metal work manufacturers for war production in the years leading up to World War 1. Fabrication Francaise, Paris was a production company that manufactured sculptures after the artist produced bronze sculptures. These reproductions were rarely cast in bronze, but cast in spelter metal (white metal/pot metal), sometimes with fabricated pieces in bronze and brass, and were painted to replicate the acid patinas of a bronze casting. The castings in spelter were most likely produced for the home dcor and export markets
