Description: This stunner of a chandelier survived the 2024 hurricane Helena flood waters that destroyed Asheville's River Arts District. Our retail shop was there and went under 16 feet of water, mud and debris. We lost most of our lighting, but this chandelier hung from a ceiling chain attached to a steel rafter and survived. We rescued it, cleaned it, installed new wiring and brass paddle key sockets and we are pleased to offer it for sale here again. The light now has a modern history to go with its over 100 years of shining. The chandelier is a turn-of-the-century 4-light chandelier with a deep, natural patina that only comes from 120+ years of fine aging. This is an extremely rare, heavy duty light that tips the scales at 16 pounds. Style is art nouveau with floral brass detailing as you can see in the photos. The canopy is very heavy, made of solid brass. The heavy duty chain has a bit of rust but that fits right in with the patina. Wear is consistent with age, some dings but none that are distracting. Finish is untouched—it will only get more beautiful as it continues to age. The heavy flame globes are 2.25-inch fitters.
