Description: An incredible find! This is a unique desk top size antique terrarium/aquarium made of cast aluminum with thick glass walls and floor. Classic art deco design elements. Unusual drawer, which I'm guessing may be for lighting. The Electrohome plate, which is shown in the photos, was present when we found this piece but we have no reason to think that it's original to it. In fact, we don't know what it's for, but are including it just in case. Terrarium is in excellent condition. Glass has a few minutes no chips and has some minor scratches consistent with careful use over nearly the past 100 years. The cast aluminum frame and drawer have no flaws. Some of the caulk inside the unit has come loose and will need to be redone if being used to hold water.
