Description: Up for your consideration is a lovely antique porcelain vibrant-colored dish that is marked Made in Japan. Beautiful shades of blue, multi-colored detailed flowers including plums and peonies on black background with two gorgeous exotic birds on branches. The dish is hand painted on the outside with floral and leaf designs on royal blue background. Please note the black outlines are missing or were not painted correctly when initially fired. During my research, similar designed and in vibrant color vases and plates were said to be from the 1930's or earlier; this is an rare piece based on identical or very similar designs. This Arita Imari Yamatoku bowl is unique to a particular period and type of firing in porcelain from Saga Prefecture. I have seen similar ones (basically same design) trending for almost $150.
