Description: This is a very old antique / ancient Mughal Empire currency coin which looks to have been excavated. This Mughal coin has been in my personal collection for 30 years and was gifted to me by a very old collector who had it in his collection for many years also. This is a very intriguing and handsome coin which measures 16.43mm across. This antique currency coin is in good overall condition but very rustic as this is a very old coin with some wear and patina consistent with being buried. This piece is a little outside the scope of my collection so hopefully it will fit better in yours. The Mughal Empire was said to be founded in 1526 and was an early modern empire in South Asia. At its peak, the empire stretched from the outer fringes of the Indus River Basin in the west, northern Afghanistan in the northwest, and Kashmir in the north, to the highlands of present-day Assam and Bangladesh in the east, and the uplands of the Deccan Plateau in South India.
