Description: Large antique aesthetic transfer ware dinner plate, pattern unknown, fauna birds apple blossoms geometric design. Plate was manufactured by Doulton (before becoming Royal Doulton) in Burslem Staffordshire district England circa: 1880. This pattern was formerly of Pinder Bourne, bought from them in 1878 for the princely sum of 12,000 British pounds. Because of the busy geometric pattern, the fine hairlines are more noticeable on the underside of the plate. CONDITION : there are three fine hairlines approx 1 1/2" etc; a few utensil marks and crazing, consistent with antique age.
