Description: Antique 2Pc Claw Foot Tiger Oak Double China Bookcase Display Cabinet w Carvings Offered for your consideration is this Antique 2 Piece Early 1900's Claw Foot Solid Quarter Sawn Oak Double China Bookcase Display Cabinet Centerpiece with 2 Keys & Brass Hardware. It measures 84" high x 72" wide with a 20-1/2" deep base. Each side china houses adjustable shelving with beveled up quarter sawn oak shelving with a plate groove at the back. The center bookcase shelving features Lambs Tongue carving at the front and double plate grooves at the back. Both top square china's lock with one key and the cabinet's lower doors and dovetailed drawers lock with the other key. The plethora of hand carving & pressing designs speak volumes about this rare display... from the barley twist corners, Greek key crown molding, pineapple and heart shaped drawers to the pressed acanthus borders. It all comes together to take your breath away. It carries some number stamps along with the GRM triangle label on the back. This mark was used by members of the Furniture Manufacturers Association of Grand Rapids, Michigan between 1899 and 1913 to identify true “Grand Rapids Made” furniture and to differentiate it from imposters of the period. This piece is extremely heavy (our best guesstimate is 400 lbs). Normally we put rollers on almost all of our items prior to display in the showroom but we couldn't do that with this gem. So we had to pick the perfect spot for it and this is where she will sit until her new forever home is revealed.
