Description: Nice antique tin toleware painted hinged lid tobacco box with a decoupaged portrait of a young maiden in all original paint, patina & condition. This is a rather unusual early tin. The tin is very light, and has a hinged lid. The tin is painted black and has very nice red & yellow painted accents around the young ladies applied portrait. The top of the tin has a great mellow patina that looks absolutely 19th. Century. The inside appears to have been repainting a rather bold blue / green color, not sure what that is all about. Anyway, you have to decide what you think. The tin is quite attractive but I'm unsure about the exact age. I have priced it reasonably enough to make it just an interesting keepsake. The interesting tin is 3 1/2" x 2 3/4" x 3/4" high.
