Description: Offered for sale is an Antique 19th Century Oil on Canvas of Cows Crossing A Stream With a Hilly Background - I do not see a signature, but on the back there is a very old handwritten note - all of the writing is tough to read, but what I can gather is that at the top it states "Cooper Henderson", presumably the artist, and a date of 1847 - under that it seems to be stating where the piece depicts, and I can read "Brightons" and "cross pond"- then it clearly states it was Bought at a sale of J. Lindsey (estate?) in 1908 - very well executed with great colors and detail - it would benefit from a good cleaning - the old oak frame has some chipping, but appears to be original - the art itself has some craquelure, but overall is in nice condition - overall size is 14 3/4" x 22 1/2" and canvas size is 11 1/2" x 19 1/4" Antique 19th Century Oil on Canvas of Cows Crossing A Stream - Cooper Henderson?
