Description: I am listing 6 antique maid's aprons, collected over the years from local estate auctions. This one probably dates to the 1930s and it has a great formal look. It is a half-apron with a waistband and back ties, made of finely woven cotton batiste. The top curves a bit, and the skirt flares out and has a curved bottom. A wide lace ruffle goes all the way around the skirt. The waistband and two long vertical insets are decorated with a lace band threaded with ivory satin ribbons, still shiny. At the bottom of the skirt's center there is a very large pocket with a v-fold on the top - it's open to the base of the skirt, so you can actually carry something. it is also trimmed with the ribbon and lace. The two side ties are long and wide to tie in a bow in back; each tie has a lace edging as shown. It measures 13.5" across the skirt at the waistband, 19" long at the center, and 21" across the widest part of the skirt. I have laundered and pressed this and found the fabric to be in sound condition, soft and strong and not brittle. This is in excellent condition, with no holes, rips, tears, or stains on the front of the apron. The only possible issue is that one of the ribbons down the skirt has some threads that need to trimmed off, as shown in the last photo. This is so pretty! It has a great look for a historical display or a costume. Please have a look at all my aprons.
