Description: For your consideration: Authentic 1930's Chelsea Ship's Bell solid brass maritime helm clock with original key, in working condition. This unique clock is in good overall condition with minor tarnish and pitting. The clock keeps accurate time, however, the chime feature is not working. Therefore, this clock has to be sold as is. The back cover is sealed with wax from the factory (protect from salt water I am assuming). My watch maker/clock repairer does not want to break the seal to repair the chimes. This clock is designed to be hung on a bulk head and judging from the pitting around the rear screw holes it has been hung before (see pictures). The front cover unscrews to allow rewinding (see pictures) and there is evidence of water condensation on the inner glass face edges (see pictures). Caution: This clock weighs almost 6.5lbs, care around children or the elderly is recommended. Dimensions: Overall diameter 8.5" x 3.5" deep (back cover to brass front cover). Glass face is 3.5" in diameter (actual face plate is 4" in diameter). Rear diameter is 4.75". Serial number stamped on rear is 559694 T2
