Description: This wonderful antique German chalkware nativity set includes fourteen (14) hand formed and hand painted figures, plus a wooden stable and crib. The figures include the baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, the three Kings (one kneeling), three Shepherds (one kneeling), three lambs, a reclining cow and a reclining donkey. The largest figure ( a King) is 10” tall. The stable measures 20”x17”x11”. The figures are marked “ROBBINS COPT” on the underside, and markings on the cow indicates the set was made in 1922. This beautifully painted set is in excellent condition, with a few minor paint chips to the plaster (see ‘photos) consistent with age.
