Description: This is an original 1920s Victorian Style Letters Mailbox. The cast-iron steel mailbox displays a natural, aged patina. (The date could actually be older) It appears a screw on the letters flap is not the original screw (see photo) A local Florida locksmith said the lock was “frozen” and they helped open the mailbox door. The locksmith says the key-lock mechanism needs to be replaced. (A new key-lock mechanism costs about $35.00 plus labor cost) The original key is lost. The total weight of the mailbox is about 88 lbs. The mailbox weighs 61 lbs and the base weighs 27 lbs. The total height is approximately 4 feet and 1 inch. The mailbox itself measures 17.5” tall x 12.5” wide x 12” deep. The base stand measures 2 feet and 3 inches tall x 11.5” wide x 10” deep.
