Description: Antique 1900’s Dodd & Struthers Des Moines Iowa Lightening Rod Copper Tip. Dodd & Struthers began producing lightning rods in Des Moines, Iowa in 1897. They also produced lightning rods in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. But, this rod tip says "Dodd & Struther" and "Des Moines". The lettering is faded as it goes to the right. The rod tip has been cleaned to its copper shine. The tip has some bang marks and the bottom open lip is not perfectly round but overall it is real solid. The diameter of the opening is 5/8" in one direction and 9/16" in another so it is not quite a perfect circle opening. It is 7-1/8" long. Free shipping in the USA.
