Description: Offered here for your consideration is a fine antique 18th Century English porcelain covered sugar jar.Additional Details:By Chelsea-Derby, the Chelsea porcelain manufacturer that was operated by Derby from 1769 - 1784. With a figural flower finial to the lid and green painted floral motifs throughout both lid and body. There are gilt highlights to the lid's rim, the circumference of the base, the painted flowers, and the figural leaves of the finial. The body has two large cracks that have been repaired at some point with 4 total staples and there are losses to the gilding throughout (but especially to the lid's rim). Marked to the base with a gilt Chelsea-Derby maker's mark. Simply a great piece of early English porcelain!Date:1769-1784Overall Condition:It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition.Condition Details:The body has two large cracks that have been repaired 4 total staples and fill. There is rubbing most of the gilding throughout.
