Description: ORIGINAL 1887 'VIEW OF DEPOSIT, NEW YORK' BIRDS EYE VIEW BY LR BURLEIGH This is just a great original piece. The more I try and buy this original 19th Century town views the harder they become to find. It seems as though they have become more and more collectable and tougher to acquire. And the smaller the town, the less examples there are out there. This example is of a small little town in upstate New York. According to worldcat, there are only 3 examples in institutions including the Library of Congress, Cornell, and Penn State. This is a wonderful view with the image measuring 12 x 24 1/2 inches on complete sheet measuring 16 x 28 inches. As you can see there a couple vertical lines of brown from the original backing. Also a couple of other small spots of discoloration with a whitening of the right center margin. Could be cleaned to excellent for not that much I would say. Original frame is complimentary and ready to hang. Actually a really good frame. Frame measures 21 3/4 x 34 inches. Do your research on this view.
